10 Best In-Person Games to Play in Office

We’ve all been there. It’s Friday, your brain has left the building, and someone says, “Let’s do something fun!” Then someone else (usually Kevin from accounting) suggests a quiz. Again. No offense to quizzes, but it’s time we step up the game. Literally.
If you’re looking for in-person games to play in the office, especially for your Fun Fridays, team huddles, or those awkward post-lunch hours — you’re in the right place. These games are fun, office-appropriate, and require minimal setup (unless you’re overachieving — in which case, we salute you).
Here are 10 of the best in-person games you can play with your colleagues — no fancy tech required.
1. Find My Password
A word association team game that builds communication and chaos (the good kind).
- One player from each team gets a secret word (the “password”).
- They give one-word clues to help their team guess it.
- No part of the word is allowed in the clue — so yes, it gets hilarious.
- Each team takes turns guessing.
- Great for: Teams who love guessing games and subtle sabotage.
2. 1-Stroke Pictionary
You think drawing is easy? Try doing it in one stroke.
- Players take turns drawing an object with a single, unbroken line.
- Their team has to guess what it is.
- Rotate drawers each round.
- No erasing. No second chances. No mercy.
3. Game of Lies
Someone’s lying. The rest of you need to catch them.
- One player is shown an image. They describe it truthfully or bluff.
- The rest of the team guesses if they’re lying.
- Debate is encouraged. Chaos is inevitable.
- Works both with digital images or printed ones.
4. Lie Lie Until You Die
A twisted twist on truth or dare — minus the dare.
- Everyone answers a question (e.g. “What’s your guilty pleasure?”).
- One randomly chosen player lies.
- Everyone else guesses who’s bluffing.
- Laughs guaranteed, trust issues probable.
5. Categories
The fastest way to find out who knows the most ice cream brands.
- Announce a category (e.g. types of pasta).
- Everyone lists as many as they can in 30 seconds.
- Duplicates = 1 point. Wrong ones = no mercy.
- Bonus: Let others vote to challenge someone’s answer.
Bonus: Offline In-Person Classics
Not every game needs to be invented in a lab. Some are just good ol’ classics that work.
6. Charades
- Divide into teams.
- One person acts out a word or phrase silently.
- Their team guesses. Timer optional.
- Simple, loud, and always entertaining.
- Ideal for creative folks and shy ones who need a push.
7. Mafia / Werewolf
- You’ll need some cards or paper slips.
- Secret roles: one mafia, others villagers, a moderator.
- Mafia “kills” someone silently. Villagers discuss and vote who they think did it.
- If you haven’t tried this yet in your office — you’re missing out.
8. Who Am I? (Sticky Note Game)
- Write famous names on sticky notes.
- Each player gets one stuck to their forehead.
- Ask yes/no questions to figure out who you are.
- Classic for a reason. Works with fictional characters, celebs, or even office inside jokes.
9. Balloon Stomp
- Each person ties a balloon to their ankle.
- Objective: pop others’ balloons while protecting yours.
- Chaos level: medium to high.
- Bonus: HR-approved cardio.
10. Human Bingo
- Create bingo sheets with prompts like “Has a dog,” “Worked here 5+ years,” etc.
- Players walk around asking coworkers to fill a square they match.
- First to complete a row yells BINGO. Preferably not in someone’s ear.
Why In-Person Games Matter
Besides the obvious “fun” part, office games:
- Break silos between teams
- Encourage collaboration
- Loosen up new joiners
- Give people a reason to look forward to Fridays (other than biryani)
Some other games are: Fastest Flipper -> Two teams/person flip bottles, another bottle is placed in the middle sqaure, the bottle moves to their side, on each successfull bottle flip and the first person who flips moves more than 5 sqares to their side win.
Whether your team is fully back in office or just running a hybrid fun session, these games are easy to run, inclusive, and won’t require an IT guy to help set up.
